[Webinar] Building Fiberhoods in Holland

AAPB partnered with the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR) for the premiere of Building Fiberhoods in Holland, a mini-documentary showcasing how Holland, Michigan built its own municipal broadband network to strengthen the local economy.

The short film showcases key community leaders telling the story of the why and how Holland decided to establish its own municipal broadband utility and where they are now building out a citywide fiber network that offers its residents fast, affordable, world-class Internet service.

“Yes, community broadband has its challenges, but it can also be fun. It’s in that spirit we want to highlight short films that demonstrate how solving connectivity challenges at the local level can really empower communities and remind all of us that we can shape our own digital futures,” said ILSR Community Broadband Director Christopher Mitchell.
