American Association for Public Broadband Welcomes New Board Members: Lexi Christensen and Brian Vo

New Board Appointments Strengthen AAPB’s Leadership at a Pivotal Moment for Public Broadband


Washington, D.C. | July 15, 2025 – The American Association for Public Broadband (AAPB) is proud to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Lexi Christensen, Marketing Director at UTOPIA Fiber, and Brian Vo, Chief Investment Officer at Connect Humanity.


“These two exceptional leaders bring tremendous experience and energy to our mission,” said Gigi Sohn, Executive Director of AAPB. “Lexi brings deep expertise in open-access fiber networks and community engagement, while Brian offers unmatched insight into impact investing and financing strategies for digital equity. Their voices will be invaluable as we work to expand and defend public broadband across the country, and as we help communities confront the complex challenges standing between them and affordable, reliable connectivity.”


Lexi Christensen has more than a decade of experience in the broadband industry and currently serves as Marketing Director at UTOPIA Fiber, where she has led marketing efforts since 2016. Known for her collaborative leadership and community-first approach, Lexi oversees all marketing initiatives across UTOPIA’s multi-state open-access fiber networks. Her work spans Utah, Montana, Idaho, and California, including networks like Yellowstone Fiber, Idaho Falls Fiber, and the upcoming Golden State Fiber. Lexi also manages partnerships with more than 20 ISPs and coordinates public outreach wi

th dozens of local governments, driving network adoption and customer engagement. She holds a degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Southern Utah University.


Brian Vo brings over 20 years of investment and strategy experience to AAPB’s board. As Chief Investment Officer at Connect Humanity, a nonprofit impact investor, he works closely with communities and social enterprises to structure financial solutions that remove barriers to connectivity and advance digital equity. Brian has led more than $7 billion in direct transactions throughout his career, spanning private equity, impact debt, and public-sector advisory work. He previously served as Vice President of Social Investment at Pact, Inc., where he deployed innovative capital to accelerate global development goals. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Quantified Ventures, McKinsey & Company, Macquarie, and Jefferies. Brian also serves on the boards of Public Knowledge, Pacific Community Ventures, and if, A Foundation for Radical Possibility. He earned both his MBA and BS from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
