Saying the move would “undermine” efforts to fund community-owned broadband projects, the American Association of Public Broadband (AAPB) has urged New York lawmakers to reject reported changed language in a state budget bill that would limit grants from the Municipal Infrastructure Program only to projects that would serve underserved or unserved locations.
“This anticompetitive and anti-consumer language should not be part of any budget that passes the state legislature," AAPB Executive Director Gigi Sohn said in a press release.
